In addition to the story-telling I’ve done on behalf of different companies and organizations, I’ve also managed to tell my own stories by pursuing different passions through personal projects.
Project: The University of Missouri School of Journalism Internships Highlight Reel
As a senior studying entrepreneurial-convergence journalism, my professors and the dean of the journalism school asked me to shoot and produce a promotional video highlighting the different internship opportunities students receive while at Mizzou. Not only was I able to tell the stories of other’s experiences, but with the help of a fellow student framing me up and checking audio levels, I was also able to script and share my own experience.
Project: For Future Reference- A Podcast
Co-written, anchored and produced with my fellow journalistically talented roommate, For Future Reference was a podcast that discussed everything including the kitchen sink! From politics and pop-culture to new recipes and song finds every week, this side project was created with a true entrepreneurial mindset.
With a dedication to get our stories on the internet, I designed our website, wrote blog posts and produced the final product using Adobe Audition. While short lived due to other work and education obligations, the Podcast served as a platform for us to tell our stories, develop our brand and grow as individuals and storytellers.
